CATUCZA reaffirms its firm stance against illegal parties that have long harmed the tourist destination it represents. Committed to promoting regenerative tourism from Malpaís to Manzanillo, the Chamber focuses on building strategic alliances to restore impacted communities and natural environments. Opposed to practices such as drug sales, noise pollution, and underage alcohol consumption, CATUCZA actively supports local authorities in preventing illegal activities. Additionally, the Chamber joins community organizations in urging the Municipal Council to provide a platform to address the harmful impact of clandestine parties on both local communities and the region's tourism.
Celebrating the Start of the Sewer and Road Project at the Playa Carmen - Santa Teresa Intersection
The Chamber of Tourism and Commerce of the Blue Zone celebrates the start of the long-awaited sewer and road construction project at the Playa Carmen-Santa Teresa intersection. This initiative, delayed for over 12 years, represents a major milestone for the community, driving development and improving quality of life. The project includes rainwater management, curbs, drains, and sidewalks, with property owners encouraged to contribute to sidewalk construction. Nighttime work begins Friday, and drivers are advised to stay informed. The Chamber reaffirms its commitment to fostering a thriving, sustainable, and competitive Blue Zone.

The unexpected runway closure has disrupted connectivity, directly impacting the livelihoods of families and businesses in the Nicoya Peninsula and the broader Blue Zone. Infrastructure Enhancements in Santa Teresa: Elevating Community and Tourism
Santa Teresa is set to undergo significant infrastructure enhancements following the Municipal Council of Cóbano’s approval of a major road project. This development aims to pave and improve the roads between Playa del Carmen and Quebrada del Carmen, substantially elevating both community well-being and tourist accessibility. The initiative will replace the predominantly gravel and dirt roads with paved surfaces, addressing the dust pollution that has affected the health and environmental quality of the region. With improved roads, Santa Teresa is poised to enhance its economic vitality by attracting more tourists and easing the local transportation of goods and services.
