CATUCZA Promotes Local Production and Consumption

Recently, we were delighted to welcome representatives from Cooperativa Coopepilangosta from Nandayure. They introduced their assortment of fresh and value-added products to several of our affiliated restaurants and cafés, enhancing our local supply chain with quality offerings.
The visit featured a coffee tasting session, showcasing the rich flavors of locally grown coffee, along with a selection of traditional products aimed at fostering a distinctly Costa Rican culinary identity.
This initiative is a key part of CATUCZA’s commitment to regenerative tourism, which focuses on reducing intermediary links in the supply chain. By doing so, we help lower the carbon footprint associated with provisioning in the area, support the consumption of local products, and boost the economic and social development of producers in the Nicoya Peninsula.
Our affiliates recognized significant opportunities for collaboration with Coopepilangosta. These partnerships go beyond merely sourcing fresh and value-added products; they also include creating unique tourist experiences, such as the cooperative’s coffee tours, which introduce visitors to the local culture and production processes.
We continue to dedicate ourselves to regenerative tourism and enhancing the well-being of communities within the Blue Zone, ensuring that our efforts help sustain the environmental, economic, and social fabric of the region.
